The Cyprus

Hi, I am the Great Granddaughter of James J Norcross. A century ago his ship the SS Cyprus sunk on the Great Lakes.It has long been a story in my family, with no one left knowing much about any of it, so of course that made it even more interestiong to me. My mother is his granddaughter and she still is living,but is a very poor historian. When James J Norcross perished with his ship, my Great Grandmother was pregnant with my Grandmother, Emily Norcross.so my Grandma never knew her dad! I found the whole thing very interesting and wanted to know why this ship sank, and to get some more family backgronds here! Well my research is really paying off. They have found the Cyprus just last year! Wow! I was excited, but I had to spend night and day on the computer to find out anything at all about James my Great Grandfather and this ship the Cyprus. I think it is kinda weird that no one ever tried to contact any of his decendents when the ship was found! Don't they usually do stuff like that? I know they did with the Edmound Fitzgerald! By the way my Grandfathers ship sank close to where the Edmond Fitzgerald went daown on Lake Supieor. Looking for any commments here, or maybe other decendents of James J Norcross. He was an Engineer Officer on this ship.
